The Community Coalition against Human Trafficking (CCAHT) is the only counter trafficking organization in upper East Tennessee that works to unite and equip our community to end modern-day slavery while providing survivors of human trafficking with individualized, relational care through its direct services program, Grow Free TN. The CCAHT accomplishes its mission through the following initiatives:

  • Raising overall awareness about human trafficking in upper East Tennessee
  • Training and equipping primary responders in the upper East Tennessee region
  • Providing a collaborative space for counter-trafficking work to flourish
  • Ensuring a clear, restorative path for survivors of human trafficking in our community

The CCAHT is the single point of contact agency for all human trafficking cases in the upper East Tennessee region and also oversees a locally focused, counter-trafficking task force comprised of representatives from more than 20 partner agencies including federal, state, and local law enforcement; regional direct service organizations; local nonprofits; governmental agencies; and more.

The CCAHT helps survivors of human trafficking find safety, hope, and newfound opportunity in Knoxville. In 2018...

  • 81 total referrals were made to the CCAHT in 2018 – an increase of 80% compared to 2017.
  • 27 ongoing, active clients received specialized, comprehensive recovery services based on their unique needs and goals.
  • 734 unique services were provided, including medical care, counseling, legal aid, transportation, safe housing, and more.

The CCAHT is a member of the Alliance for Better Non-Profits and a proud partner of United Way of Greater Knoxville. To learn more about the mission and work of the CCAHT, visit ccaht.org.
